What is the Master Cocktail
corporate mixology competition

"Three rounds, three cocktails: teams learn and compete in equal measure at this entertaining mixology competition."

Master Cocktail is a competitive corporate cocktail making workshop where teams go from zero to barman across three progressive rounds. Each round works on a different cocktail, with its own technique, its own ingredients and its own level of difficulty. The jury scores each creation on technique, flavour, presentation and originality.

What sets Master Cocktail apart from a simple mixology class is the competition. Teams are not just making drinks: they are also making strategic decisions, organising themselves under time pressure and chasing that finishing touch in the presentation that can tip the balance with the jury. Following the recipe is not enough — it has to be executed well and presented even better.

No prior knowledge of cocktail making is required. The activity is designed so that anyone can take part from the very first minute. Also available in a non-alcoholic version for groups that prefer or need it.

How the
Master Cocktail workshop works

Three rounds, three cocktails and a jury that scores everything. All in an hour and a half.

01
Briefing
We introduce the dynamic, the three cocktails teams will prepare and the equipment available at each station. We explain the basic technique for each round before it starts.
02
Making
Three cocktail rounds of increasing difficulty. Each round works on a different type of cocktail, with its own techniques and its own level of challenge for the team.
03
Presentation
Each team presents its cocktails to the jury and defends the decisions made: ingredients chosen, technique applied and the final finish of each glass.
04
Judging
The jury scores each cocktail on technique, flavour, presentation and originality. Points accumulate on the overall scoreboard across all three rounds.
05
Prize
Once all three rounds are complete, the jury names the winning team, who take home the Competition Star — the most refreshing trophy of the corporate year.

Three cocktails, three chances
to impress the jury

Each round features a different cocktail, with its own technical complexity and its own presentation possibilities. Teams compete across all three and accumulate points throughout the entire event.

Round 1
The classic
The first cocktail looks straightforward but demands more precision than expected. Quantities, the order of ingredients and preparation technique are what separate a decent cocktail from one that stands out before the jury. The team that organises itself well in this round sets the tone for the scoreboard.
Round 2
The tropical
The second round opens up the possibilities: more ingredients, more colours, more room for the team's creativity to make a difference. Presentation starts to matter as much as flavour. Decoration, visual balance and the small detail the jury will not miss all come into play here.
Round 3
The corporate
In the final round, teams create their own corporate cocktail: a creation that represents the values, character or identity of their company. There is no preset recipe — just the ingredients, the technique learned during the event and the freedom to surprise everyone with something genuinely their own.
The competition

Technique, flavour
and presentation.

The jury scores each cocktail on four criteria: technique, flavour, presentation and originality. Four criteria, three rounds, twelve opportunities to stand out. Difficulty increases round by round, and the team that holds its level under pressure is the one that ends up at the top of the scoreboard.

The winner is not just whoever mixes best. The winning team is the one that organises itself better, shows more judgement in the presentation and in the final round is capable of creating something nobody else has made.

3
cocktail rounds of increasing difficulty, one per type of cocktail.
1
Competition Star per event. The most technical and creative team takes it home.

What the team experiences
during Master Cocktail

There is something about cocktail making that sets it apart from any other gastronomic activity: the glass says everything before anyone takes a sip. The colour, the garnish, the amount of ice, the choice of glassware. The team that arrives at the presentation with a cocktail that also looks the part already has an advantage before the jury even tastes it. That forces everyone to think about the whole picture from the very start, not just follow the steps.

The first round is the one that surprises most. What seems simple turns out to have more nuance than expected: the proportions, the temperature, the order of the ingredients. The team that organises itself and listens before acting sees the difference in the result. The team that improvises without structure sees it too, but in a different way.

The second round changes the rhythm. There is more freedom, more ingredients and more room to differentiate. This is the moment each team starts finding its own voice within the activity: who leads, who garnishes, who tastes and who makes the final call on the glass. The roles emerge on their own, without anyone assigning them.

The corporate cocktail round is the one participants remember most. Creating something that represents the company, using the ingredients and technique learned during the afternoon, sparks a conversation about team identity that no conventional workshop manages to provoke. What does our company taste like? What colour is it? How would we present it in a glass? Significant questions that generate revealing answers.

Skills the team develops
in the Master Cocktail workshop

Behind the shaker and the ingredients lies real teamwork. Cocktail making under time pressure activates exactly the skills most needed in the workplace.

Precision and technique

Proportions matter. The team that respects the technique and measures with intention gets better results than the one that acts without order. A skill that transfers directly to any company project.

Communication

Three rounds with the clock running: communication within the team has to be clear and fast. The team that coordinates its tasks well builds up a consistent advantage throughout the event.

Leadership

Someone has to decide the presentation strategy, allocate roles and keep the pace when the timer is ticking. Master Cocktail brings out natural leaders from where nobody expected them.

Cooperation

Three cocktails in an hour and a half: nobody can do it alone. The only way to complete all the rounds with quality is to share roles and support each other through the difficult moments.

Creativity

Especially in the corporate cocktail round, where the team starts from scratch and has to create something genuinely their own. Teams that take considered risks tend to earn the originality points.

Performance under pressure

The timer runs in every round. The ability to stay calm, make fast decisions and not lose technique when time is running out is exactly what the jury ends up valuing most.

When the corporate cocktail round arrived, nobody really knew what to do. Ten minutes later we had something that, with a bit of imagination, said quite a lot about us. It was the best moment of the afternoon.
